The most difficult aspect of managing our carbon footprint is that though we can measure our energy use, we can’t readily see it. Data visualisation is an important tool towards helping us understand our energy consumption patterns. The key motivation of visualising the invisible is to transform the consumption of energy and other vital resources into a sensory and therefore emotional experience. This studio will be employing technology, light, colour and sound to shift otherwise abstract, intangible concepts into the realm of the comprehensible. Such artifice works to connect us to the impact of our behaviours to better understand the traces we leave in our environment.
