Graduating with his doctorate from the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) in 2015, Dr. Travis Cox’s ongoing theoretical and artistic exploration seeks to examine the relationships between the user and the computer. The mediation of both the artist and the user within digital code produces a shared act of meaning creation and he has explored this idea through public installations, webpage artworks, and collaborative performances with dancers and composers. Cox has worked with Media Lab Melbourne (MLM) for approximately two years and in that time has led workshops introducing artists’ to technology, produced, curated and exhibited in MLM exhibitions and in 2016 curated MLM’s free artist talk program, OpenLAB hosted by ACMI X in Southbank.
