Studio Roboto

Studio Roboto

Studio directors: Scott Mayson & Ryan Pennings

Studio partnership with Autodesk and RMIT Architectural Robotics Lab

This studio introduces you to robotic fabrication and its application in product design. Roboto will provide you with 3 different fabrication techniques, which you will apply to a product design process through the creation of a series of artefacts.

These techniques are: Robotic 3D Printing, Robotic Foam Cutting, & Incremental Sheet Forming

Roboto will be programed through Rhino & Grasshopper where Fusion 360 is utilised as the main CAD modelling tool. Advanced tools such as Maya, Inventor, Alias & Algorithmic Modelling (grasshopper/scripting) will be used for more advanced form development.

The robots are: UR10, Kuka KR-150 and KR-Agilus.

Studio runs on: Tuesday Evenings and Thursday Afternoons, with robot intensives occasionally taking place on some Tuesdays.
